Hyacinth removed from Alithalab Cheruvu
Hyderanagar: Local Corporator Janakirama Raju on Sunday launched work to remove the piled-up hyacinth from the Alithalab Cheruvu and supervised anti-mosquito spraying.
Speaking later, Raju stated that mosquito menace could be checked by getting rid of hyacinth. The tank was being cleaned to rid of hyacinth and mosquitoes as part of efforts to check the spread of dengue fever. He also said fogging was being taken up in the colony to control spread of mosquitoes, the bite of which was causing dengue.
Raju announced that steps were also being launched to wipe out mosquito larva. Among those who accompanied the corporator in anti-mosquito drive were entomology superviser Narsimha, GHMC staff, TRS leaders Venkatesh Yadav, Quadeer, Danayya, Ch.Satyanarayana, Ramesh, Brahmayya.
