Hyderabad: 12-year-old boy dies of electric shock while playing cricket
A 12-year-old boy died of electric shock while playing cricket here at Film Nagar on Sunday evening. Akhil, a Class 6 student is the son of Yadamma and Sekhar, residents of Durga Bhavani nagar in film nagar. However, the boy was staying with his mother after his father passed away several months ago.
Akhil lost the ball while he was playing cricket with his friends and decided to get one from near FNCC tennis court. He scaled the compound wall to collect a tennis ball.
The boy who was trying to climb the compound wall to leave the premises came in contact with a live wire.
The Banjara Hills police rushed to the spot and disconnected the power supply after an FNCC staff informed the police seeing smoke from the transformer and the boy stuck to it. However, the boy died by the time the police reached.
