Hyderabad: 214 people caught by police for driving drunk
Around 214 people were caught by the Hyderabad traffic police for driving in a drunk state. The police conducted the searches at 15 places in the city on Saturday night and seized four cars, nine autos and 141 two-wheelers.
The police let off them and asked to attend counseling conducted at the traffic institutes at Begumpet and Goshamahal. The police said that they will file a charge-sheet against them asking them to appear before the court.
On the other hand, the Cyberabad police caught 273 persons during the drunk and drive check. Out of them, 203 were two-wheelers, 19 were autos and 50 four-wheelers and one lorry driver.
"Driving under the influence of alcohol is dangerous and may lead to fatal road accidents. Many of the youngsters were found driving in a drunk state," the police said.
