Hyderabad: 57 theme parks to dot city to regale citizenry
Hyderabad: In a short span of time, the city will have a new kind of attractions for denizens thinking of an outing for breathing some fresh air 2021. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is all gearing up to develop 57 parks with different themes around the city.
The aim of redeveloping the present parks is to add more innovative elements that would fascinate the visitors and encourage more frequent visits. The GHMC would be developing the parks on different themes such as Knowledge Park, Sacred theme park, Mini golf theme park, Fountain theme park, Women's park, Shade theme park and many other. The civic authority hopes that with this development it would be able to attract more people and bring in charm to the existing ones and consequentially increase the footfall.
According to officials, as part of this Initiative the large parks in the city like Indira Park and Vengal Rao Nagar park would undergo a major transformation, as the State government has decided to renovate and redesign the two parks on par with International standards. "As part of the endeavour, recently, tenders have been invited for design and development. Though there are several other parks which remain busy all the time, but most of the people remain focused on these two parks," said an official.
Of these proposed 57 theme parks, 16 parks would be in LB Nagar zone, 6 parks in Kukatpally, 10 parks at Serilingampally, 8 parks at Secunderabad zone, 14 parks at Khairatabad zone and 3 parks at Charminar zone.
"GHMC Urban Biodiversity division has taken steps to design and launch the works for renovation and redesigning the parks. As part of this, the unused land would be used to create infrastructure to attract visitors. Enough care will be taken for renovation of Indira park and Vengal Rao Nagar parks towards reaching international standards," added the officials.
