Hyderabad a citadel of Majlis for four decades

Hyderabad: All arrangements are in place for the counting of votes for Lok Sabha in the city. Distribution Reception Counting Centres are ready as per Assembly segments under Hyderabad and Secunderabad parliamentary constituencies. Counting for Musheerabad and Nampally segments will be held at LB Stadium.

As many as 8,76,078 votes polled in Hyderabad parliamentary constituency. This constituency covers Malakpet, Karwan, Goshamahal, Charminar, Chandrayangutta, Yakutpura, Bahadurpura assembly segments.

There are 14 counting centres have been arranged in the Hyderabad district. Every counting hall has a table. A counting supervisor along with an assistant and a micro observer look after the table.

Political parties are applying the predictions of exit polls to themselves and eagerly waiting for the results. BJP is hoping to regain its glory. Majlis is confident about victory in Hyderabad parliamentary constituency. The poll percentage was down by 10 per cent when compared to 2014 elections.

Congress candidate Firoz Khan, BJP candidate Dr Bhagavantha Rao, and TRS candidate P Shrikanth are confident about their victory. Majlis has been winning from here for four decades. Though it has friendly alliance with TRS, the increasing vote bank of the pink party cannot be ruled out simply.

On the other hand, BJP and Congress are also confident that they could split the traditional votes of Majlis. Apart from the candidates, the citizens of the Hi-Tec City are looking for the D-Day.
