Akhila Priya kin perceive threat to her life

Hyderabad: The family members of Bhuma Akhila Priya, who has been named as A1 in the kidnap case of KCR's kin on Wednesday, expressed apprehensions about the safety of Akhila Priya.

Talking to the media, her sister Mounika said that whatever was mentioned in the FIR and the medical report of Gandhi Hospital was far from being true. She expressed shock and surprise as to why the police removed the name of A V Subba Reddy who was named as A1 in the kidnap case.

She said it was a fact that there were business relations between her father and K Praveen Rao along with Naveen and Sunil. A V Subba Reddy was the man who was handling all those issues. After the death of their father Bhuma Nagi Reddy she, her sister, and her brother were not aware of their financial and property status. In this context, some time back, they had a meeting with Praveen Rao and others.

She said that beyond that they never demanded any money nor did they threaten anyone. She said they were not interested in any faction politics. "We are educated and want a decent life," she said. She said her father and A V Subba Reddy, who had a faction background, had also at a later stage given it up and led a normal life.

However, some differences had cropped up between the Bhuma family and A V Subba Reddy who happens to be their relation. She said they would welcome if the Chief Minister of Telangana could suggest some mediator who could resolve the issue.

"We are open for it," she added. Mounika said on Wednesday when Akhila Priya was unwell and was taken to Gandhi Hospital, she was treated in an inhuman manner by the police. Soon after reaching the hospital, the car engine was switched off and they refused to down the window though her sister was having seizures.

She has a history of neurological problems and her medical history reports were given to the doctors of Gandhi Hospital. Still, she was declared as fit to be taken to court, she alleged. She also said that her sister was not even given food at night. Mounika said she fears threats to her and her brother's life.

Meanwhile, the court refused their plea to shift Akhila Priya to either a government or private hospital for better treatment. The court observed that good medical facilities were available in the jail premises. Her bail petition would come up for hearing on Friday.

When asked why her brother-in-law was absconding, she refused to answer saying, "Let systems work. I don't know how my comments on this case would be used against us in the court by the police."
