Hyderabad: Excel India, a monthly magazine, published from Hyderabad organised a seminar on "Higher Education - Post-Covid era" here. Speaking on the occasion, Telangana State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar said that the government has decided to appoint all vacant vice-chancellors in Telangana universities by the end of January 2021.

Referring to the recruitment of faculty in universities facing legal litigations, he suggested a procedure be laid down so that such hurdles are not faced in future. "Even if it requires bringing in a law, let us work together in this direction to provide quality education to students by recruiting all the faculty posts in universities," he added.

Commissioner, Collegiate Education and Technical Education, Navin Mittal, in his key-note address, said, "when the world is heading for Education 4.0, we need to embrace the opportunities it throws up. We need to explore personalised learning for one size fits all does not work anymore.

Already various platforms are offering courses tailor-made for the students to give a wide spectrum of choice," said, adding that that Osmania University has taken up on an experimental basis to tide over shortage of faculty under the Learning Management Systems.

Ramkrishna Sangem, Editor, Excel India, set the ball rolling with his remarks on the challenges being faced by the policy-makers in ensuring that academic schedule is not distributed.
