Ramchander Rao said that there were several government-owned companies having huge experience in the field of digitisation of the land records. But, the State government had decided to handover the Dharani project to an inexperienced private company facing scam charges.

He said that earlier the IL&FS company had executed projects like roads and textile park projects in Nagaland and Rajasthan and ended up facing scam charges to the tune of Rs 1,700 core. He alleged that the tens and thousands of property registrations have come to a grinding halt for the past 15 days or more causing huge revenue loss to the State exchequer.

He said this was happening due to handing over of the Dharani portal to an inexperienced IL&FS company. He demanded an answer from the State government the reasons for handing over such a project to IL&FS.

The BJP leader called concessions announced in the property taxes to meant to cover up the injustice done to the residents of GHMC. He reminded how the TRS had fooled people in the same way before the last GHMC elections.

KTR had promised a 100-day action plan to improve city infrastructure and to make Hyderabad as another Dallas city. Even after five years, damaged roads, accident-prone bridges and encroached localities still persist, he said.
