Hyderabad: Bus passenger steals gold ornament

Hyderabad: A woman who was traveling in a TSRTC bus on Sunday afternoon was in for a rude shock when she noticed that 10 tolas of gold ornament was stolen from her handbag by co-passenger. The offender diverted the attention of the victim at Amberpet.

According to the police, the victim woman was travelling in a TSRTC bus when a passenger woman told her that coins fell on the floor of the bus and offered help to pick them up. As the victim bent down and began picking the coins, the offender opened the zip of her handbag and stole the small bag which contained the gold ornaments and got down from the bus at the next stop.

After travelling in the bus some distance, the victim checked her bag and found the gold ornaments missing. Based on a complaint, the Amberpet police booked a case and started efforts to track down the offender.
