Hyderabad: Archbishop Anthony Poola became the new spiritual leader of lakhs of Catholics in Hyderabad Archdiocese on Sunday. In the Pontifical High Mass celebrated by several bishops and priests, Anthony Poola has been installed as the fifth Archbishop of Hyderabad. It has been ten years since archdiocesan leadership has changed.

The grand ceremony was held at the St Mary's High School grounds in Secunderabad. Hundreds of Roman Catholics and others flocked to the venue to see Anthony formally became the leader of Roman Catholics living in the State.

Priests and nuns from the diocese and various congregations attended the Installation Ceremony. The ArchBishop Emeritus Thumma Bala, Archbishop Mallavarapu Prakash and several other Bishops congratulated the new Archbishop.

Speaking on the occasion, the new Archbishop told the gathering that his focus would be pastoral work, education, health services and social welfare activities.
