Hyderabad City to get moderate rains for three days

Hyderabad: Considering the present monsoon conditions over the city, the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) forecast light to moderate rain at a few places for the next three days.

Speaking to the Hans India, YK Reddy, the Director of IMD, said, "There are chances of moderate to heavy rains with thunder across the city due to cumulonimbus clouds. Cumulonimbus clouds occur when high temperatures are recorded in air and it becomes light and moves upwards.

Humidity in it condenses which forms into cumulonimbus clouds and which lead to rains." "These clouds are capable of producing lightening and thunderstorm. The cumulonimbus base may extend several miles across and occupy low to middle altitude from approximately 200 to 4,000 meters (700 to 10,000 ft)."
