Hyderabad: Defeating corrupt TRS is our agenda says BJP
Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary Bhupender Yadav stated that defeating the corruption-ridden Telangana Rashtra Samithi was top on their party's agenda in Telangana.
Addressing the party leaders after admitting former Hyderabad Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy and others into the party on Wednesday, he said that he could gaze the pulse of people in Hyderabad.
Taking a dig at the TRS party, he said, the poor and homeless in the State were questioning the pink party about the 2BHK houses. He expressed confidence of BJP securing victory in the ensuing GHMC polls. The BJP MP appreciated the State BJP for launching a call centre, to receive complaints, suggestions from people to make them part of preparing the party's election manifesto for the GHMC polls.
Earlier, on his arrival, the BJP MP, who had recently overseen the Bihar Assembly elections, held a meeting with the BJP Election Management Committee (BJP-EMC) headed by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy and the members of the committee. Besides, he also held a series of meetings with various State leaders and the members of the 26 wings formed to roll out the party's electioneering for the ensuing civic polls.
Yadav took stock of the preparations made so far to take on the ruling TRS party and also enquired about the process of selection of candidates for 150 municipal divisions in GHMC. He reviewed the appointment of former and sitting MPs, MLAs, MLCs, ministers and senior party leaders to oversee the party activities in each of the 150 divisions.
Bhupender Yadav made it clear that the party high command was standing solidly behind the State and city BJP leadership in the battle for the GHMC. Members of the EMC have briefed the party national general secretary regarding the number of leaders from the Congress, TRS and others expressing their intentions to join the BJP.
Credited for steering the saffron party towards victory in the Bihar Assembly polls, Bhupender Yadav is expected to stay in Hyderabad until the completion of civic body polls.
