Devnar celebrates Children’s Day

Secunderabad : The 29th Children's Day was celebrated at Devnar School for the Blind, Begumpet, on Saturday. Chief guest was Chief Justice of Telangana High Court. Raghavendra Singh Chauhan.

Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, Olympic gold medalist Gagan Narang, Dr Ashish and Anthony, principal of Little Fower School, graced the function. Director Dr Saibaba Goud, a Padma Shri awardee, welcomed the guests.

Jyothi other staff had arranged a cultural programme of classical dance fancy dress competition by the children. Chief guest and other guests spent about one hour in visiting the school and understanding the facilities available for the blind. They all appreciated the opportunity given to the blind During his address, the Chief Justice appreciated the initiative taken for the children's progress.

He advised the parents to admit their children and see the difference from dependency to independent life and self-esteem.

All other guests greeted the children and distributed the prizes. Shoren a 9th class student spoke about the Children's Day. Dr Ashish encouraged the students to forget about their handicap and get educated to face the future
