Hyderabad: E bidding begins for fancy vehicle numbers
Hyderabad: Transport Minister Dr Puvvada Ajay Kumar on Wednesday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would be the brand Ambassador for the TSRTC to earn more income. He said with new modalities and pictures of KCR, a new publicity campaign will be launched to provide cargo services.
The minister launched "e-bidding" facility to get fancy numbers to vehicles by people at his office at RTA Khairatabad here. Later, the minister told media persons that the vehicle users can now get fancy numbers online. There was no need to make rounds to the RTA offices, he clarified. He also said the government would pay salary for the recent strike period to the RTC employees by the end of March.
"We have got 50 vehicles ready to begin cargo services in the RTC to earn more income", he said, adding the RTC earned Rs 16.80 crore income on Sankranthi festival day. The people can get fancy numbers through e-bidding facility and efforts were being made for number portability to get more revenue, he said. "We appeal to the government to allocate Rs 1,500 crore to the RTC and press 4,000 buses to the Medaram festival.
The minister also asked the officials to maintain friendly relations with the staff. RTC staff can call on WhatsApp no. 98495 55778. He also said purchase of vehicles was resulting in a dip in revenue from 14 per cent to 11 per cent due to slump effect.
