Hyderabad: Education & healthcare to get special attention says Samala Hema
Corporator-elect of Seethapalmandi division Samala Hema (TRS) won the second term in the recent GHMC elections. At 23, she had become the youngest corporator in 2016.
An MBA graduate, Hema worked for companies like Google and left the corporate world to join politics. Expressing her gratitude to voters for reposing trust in her. She promised to strive for development of the division and ensure all problems are solved.
Highlighting the development activities of the last term, Hema says she has completed most works, such as construction of a modern function hall worth Rs.7 crore, community halls and "Basthi Dawakhanas, besides government college in 2017. "Many students have passed out with good percentage from the college. I resolved issues of people which came my notice. I once again assure that I shall remain available 24/7 to residents to share their issues and to solve their problems," she assured.
About her new initiatives, Hema said education for children and improving healthcare remained amongst her personal interest and top priority. She said "the re-construction of Kuttywelody (a 60-year-old hospital) with 100 beds and also modification of sewage system and improvement of roads in Upper Basthi, Yerukala Basthi, Beedal Basthi are my top priorities." According to her, roads have been sanctioned to the division.
They would be laid soon. Sanitisation mainly in 'basthis' would be monitored regularly. Generating women's employment through different schemes is on cards. "Women employment schemes, which encompass free skill training, would be provided to weaker sections, so that they are able to stand on their own.
They can earn to live with honour. Most people are coming to me with their pending issues, like provision of pensions and CM Relief Fund assistance. I will look into them and solve their problems," said the corporator-elect.
