Govt will seize 2BHKs if sold, Harish warns beneficiaries

Hyderabad: Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Sunday warned beneficiaries of 2BHK houses against selling them. The Minister inaugurated the remaining 168 units of 2BHKs in KCR Nagar Colony of Narsapur in Siddipet district.

Speaking on the occasion after distributing the documents and keys of ownership to the beneficiaries, the Minister has asked the beneficiaries to not to sell their houses as it was the dream of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to see that poor live in their own houses and if they do, the government would seize them.

Adding that no other government in the country was providing welfare schemes on a large scale other than the Telangana government, the Finance Minister said owners of the new houses should abstain from selling the house and instead promote cleanliness and greenery. He informed that each house had costed around Rs 8 to 9 lakh.

"The Telangana government has been completing such projects on war footing. No other State in the country has similar housing facilities. Like an elder brother in the family, the Chief Minister is providing monetary help in the name of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak towards the marriage of poor girls," he added.
