Hyderabad: Land takeover delays for Aramghar flyover
Ranga Reddy: The government had decided to construct a 4-km flyover from Zoo Park to Aramghar at the cost of Rs 324 crore. According to information, the tender has also been given to the contractors, but there hasn't been any progress. The GHMC officials are said to have almost completed the initial inspection.
The road is to be extended up to 150 feet for the construction of the flyover. The NHAI officials have according to information, completed the extension of the road from Agricultural University to Shamshabad and the construction of the flyover is almost done.
But there has purportedly been no visible progress in the construction of flyovers from Bahadurpura to Aramghar. The area comes under the limits of GHMC and due to the suspected negligence of the GHMC officials, the construction of the flyover from Bahadurpura to Aramghar has not yet commenced.
At present, the highway has not been extended upto 150 feet, and has been taken upto 100, 130 and 140 feets in different areas with an irregular highway extension. In order to extend the road, petrol stations, function halls and many other establishments located in the way have to be demolished or removed.
It is known that the GHMC officials have prepared a report on the establishments which have to be demolished in order to extend the highway and the construction will begin as soon as the land is acquired. Commuters have been facing traffic problems at Bahadurpura- Aramghar highway. Thus, the government, in order to solve this problem had decided to construct a 4 km flyover.
According to GHMC south zone project department SE Dattu Pant, funds for the construction of this flyover have already been released by the government and the land acquisition for the construction of this flyover has already started. As soon as the process completes, the construction of the flyover will commence, the official informed.
