Laxman sees terror a threat to country, State security

Hyderabad: BJP OBC Morcha national president and MP Dr K Laxman on Thursday said that terror activities pose a threat to the security of the country and Telangana, and the state government should act with an iron fist to curse terror activities that rise above political interests.

Laxman said that both the Congress and the BRS governments are not serious about handling political interests and are more interested in appeasing Majlis.Whenever some terror activities take place in the country, their links surface in Hyderabad."

Adding to that he asked the State government whether the police are meant only to spy and gather intelligence on the movements of the opposition party leaders or to keep a tab on the leaders of the ruling party to figure out who is keeping in touch with whom and mulling over leaving the party?

He criticised the government for not giving the police a free hand to act tough in countering terror activities and referred to how tough stand took precedence over terror incidents taking place in states like Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.

He also expressed concern over facilitating and settling Rohingyas in Hyderabad and other areas of Telangana. These are posing a threat to the country's as well as Telangana's security, he said.

Responding to the exit polls for the Karnataka Assembly, he said, "We believe in people's pulse."

The revolutionary decisions taken by former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and current Chief Minister Basavaraj Somappa Bommai, who gave equal importance to development, welfare, and the delivery of social justice to SCs, STs, and BCs, will get people's support. The BJP will come back to power in Karnataka.

On the home front, Dr Laxman said the Telangana state government is sleeping, and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is busy in politics, leaving governance to the winds.

The CM has no time to review while the farmers' lives are in the doldrums due to crop damages caused by the unseasonal rains.

He said that about 70 per cent of the state is dependent on agriculture. But, when the farmers are suffering, the CM does not bother and is busy eying politics at the national level, giving slogans like Abki Bar Kisan Sarkar, he added.
