Hyderabad: Main Bhi Digital launched for street vendors
Hyderabad: Adhering to the Central government directions, the GHMC has decided to launch 'Main Bhi Digital' campaign to motivate street vendors to avail the government schemes. The Corporation would be helping them to grow their business mainly through E-commerce platforms like Zomato and Swiggy.
According to GHMC officials, since the street vendors in the city are going through tough times and running into losses even after easing the COVID measures, the GHMC has decided to initiate the drive 'Main Bhi Digital'.
In this endeavour, the street food vendors shall be sensitised to get on board with E-commerce platforms like Swiggy , Zomato and Uber eats to widen their markets. The pilot projects were already conducted in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi and Varanasi. These gave good results and shall be replicated in GHMC too.
The Government of India (GOI) has envisioned that PM SVANidhi scheme is not only to extend loans to the street vendors, but also to uplift the socio-economic status and holistic development of the street vendors and their families.
GHMC has decided to run this campaign from January 4 till 22 to motivate street vendors and apply government schemes to them in collaboration with ICDS, Medical Health Department, Bankers and Labour Departments to take up various activities.
On Tuesday, all the zonal commissioners were directed to coordinate with the bankers and banking controllers for pending sanctions, grounding and uploading the disbursement details in PM SWANidhi portal and also to arrange the conduct trainings on digital transactions as per the guidelines issued under MAIN BHI DIGITAL campaign and also to motivate the eligible street vendors to come on board on E-commerce platforms to widen their business.
