Hyderabad: Man kills mother, sister for objecting him betting on IPL matches

A man poisoned his mother and sister after they objected him betting on IPL matches with his dead father's savings. The accused was identified as Sainath Reddy.

Sainath Reddy addicted to IPL betting for easy money and incurred heavy debts. In order to repay the debts, he decided to use his father's savings. Sainath's father Prabhakar died in a road accident three years ago and Rs 20 lakh of insurance amount and the land sale was deposited as savings.

Sainath also sold his mother's jewellery without informing her. However, when the accused tried to use his father's money, his mother Sunitha and sister Anusha objected him and forced him to stop betting.

On November 23, Sainath mixed poisonous pills in food and went for work. The mother and daughter who consumed food at noon fall sick. However, Sunitha called up his son and asked him not to eat the food, not knowing that their son poisoned the food.

Meanwhile, Sainath rushed home immediately and did not take them to hospital. He waited until the two were dead. Sunita died on November 27 and Anusha on November 28.

However, after the funeral, Sainath confessed the truth to his family members who filed a complaint with the police. The police took him into custody.
