Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited celebrates 73rd Independence Day

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with nationalistic fervour at Metro Rail Bhavan, Rasoolpura, here on Thursday.

HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy unfurled the National Flag and recalled the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters who participated in freedom movement.

He stated that Hyderabad Metro Rail project with its financial and engineering innovation already won more than 75 national and international Awards.

He mentioned that reversal facility at Hi-Tec city has been completed in all respects and that the frequency of trains will be increased to and from Hi-Tec City in all directions in a few days. He also said that works up to Raidurg (Mindspace junction station) were also nearing completion and trial runs would start on the section between Hi-Tec city and Raidurg stations.

He informed that on Wednesday a new record was created with 3.06 lakh passengers travelling by Metro trains and Metro stations experiencing 3.22 lakh footfalls, he added.

HMRL Chief Electrical Engineer DVS Raju, Chief Project Manager Anand Mohan, Superintendent Engineer M Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, GM (Works) B N Rajeshwar, DCP A Balakrishna, Krishna Moorthy, Louis Berger and others participated in the celebrations.
