Hyderabad metro services were disrupted for 20 minutes between Miyapur and Ameerpet route due to a technical glitch. However, the metro officials reacted swiftly and fixed the snags resuming the services.
However, passengers inside the train expressed dissatisfaction over the sudden stoppage of train.
Hyderabad metro has been witnessing a surge in the patronage for some time now. It ranks second in the country in terms of ridership after Delhi Metro post the lockdown. At present, the metro patronage is over 1.30 lakh per day.
The rise in passenger footfall is attributed to the safety norms and introduction of offers. It is known that Hyderabad metro introduced Metro Suvarna offers from November 1 following which the ridership has been increased by over 30 per cent. The 50 per cent discount offered on metro smart recharge has become successful and is valid for 90 days.
