Hyderabad: Name-changers or game-changers?
Hyderabad: Alleging religious politics by the BJP, the TRS working president KT Rama Rao on Friday asked people of the city to choose what they want among name changers or game-changers.
The TRS leader was reacting to the BJP leaders' announcement of changing the name of Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar in a 'Real Estate Summit 2020' on Friday. "They are announcing to change the name of the city. Will it become gold if the name of Hyderabad is changed to Bhagyanagar? Decide what you want... name-changers or game-changers. Don't get tempted and carried away with their propaganda," said Rama Rao admitting that the TRS too had talked ferociously before the formation of Telangana but after formation the party did not lose balance.
Admitting that there was a problem in the non-agriculture properties, he said, "I know when a big change is brought a few difficulties will arise. I assure the reform will change the way the country is going to think about land registration and mutations. Have patients, if nothing happens within two-three days, if not solved, we will continue the old system," said Rao.
Rao said that the Dharani portal was brought to unlock land value of Telangana. There are 66 lakh acres of land. The non-agriculture properties in rural areas have no papers. The government wants to unlock the value of these 66 lakh acres. Apart from these the Hyderabad has about 25 lakh properties but taxpayers were 16 lakh properties. With this initiative, the government can get revenue in the form of property tax, he added. He assured the builders of solving all their problems.
