Hyderabad : A new High Court building will come up on a sprawling 100 acres in the Rajendra Nagar area in the city. Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy directed the concerned officials to make the required arrangements to lay the foundation stone of the new Telangana High Court building in January 2024.

Revanth held a review on the construction of a new High Court building, attended by Telangana High Court Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and top officials at the MCRHRD Institute of Telangana in the city on Thursday.

The Chief Justice and lawyers brought to the notice of the CM the necessity of constructing a new building given the dilapidation of the existing High Court building. The CM has been requested to grant adequate funds for the construction of a new High Court. Revanth responded positively and ordered the officials to make the necessary arrangements.

The Chief Justice and lawyers also requested the CM to take the initiative for the construction of court complexes in the new districts. Since the present High Court building is listed as a heritage structure, the CM said there is a need to preserve it. Revanth assured that the existing High Court building will be renovated and used for the city court or other court buildings.

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Principal Secretary to CMO Seshadri, Collectors of Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts, IAS officer Navin Mittal, and other officials participated in the review meeting.
