Hyderabad: NIMS told not to delay emergency services
Hyderabad: Health Minister Eatala Rajender on Monday desired to have patient counsellors in all government hospitals for better co-ordination and interaction between patients, family members and doctors, which he felt would yield good results in treatment.
He directed NIMS officials not to make patients coming for emergency treatment wait for hours and ensure each patient is extended treatment. The minister held a review on functioning of NIMS with heads of departments and senior officials of the hospital at BRKR Bhavan.
"Doctors and counsellors have been advised to explain the patient's condition to the patient and his/her attendant from time to time. They were told to speak in a friendly tone," Etala stated.
Further, he suggested improved facilities to scale up transplants for kidney, heart, liver, without burdening the people. The minister lauded the doctors for carrying out successful transplantations in the institute.
