Hyderabad set to reel under heatwave from next month

People of Hyderabad are set to reel under intense heatwave starting from next month to May, said the officials of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD has predicted that there is a 43 per cent probability of maximum temperatures in the heatwave zone between March and May reaching above the normal range. "The temperature in some parts of the city will be hotter than other regions due to the lack of greenery," said an IMD official.

While the districts like Adilabad, Bhadradri, Khammam and Suryapet will also face intense heatwave as the state falls in the core heatwave zone. It is also predicted that no sign of pre-monsoon activity will be seen as of now which further leads to the rise in temperature.

The core heat wave zone which is predicted to be having higher temperature covers Andhra Pradesh, Marathwada, Central Maharashtra, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Rajashthan, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Haryana.
