Hyderabad: Shivaji Jayanthi utsav in Shiva temple
Miyapur: Chatrapathi Shivaji jayanti was celebrated in Shiva temple here on Wednesday by activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and other Sangh Parivar organisations by taking out a 'shoba yatra' from the shrine to Mata Bhavani temple. State BJP Executive Committee member Jnanendra Prasad, along with leaders of the organisations, took part in the yatra.
Addressing the participants, Prasad recalled that Shivaji's fight at a young age of 17 years in a war and his role as a guerilla leader. He said it was a habit even as a youngster for Shivaji to go round the areas inhabited by the poor. "Although he participated in many wars, the bold leader never damaged any places of worship and used to help women and children in enemy areas after victories in wars," he told the gathering.
VHP leaders Ramesh Babu, Srinivas, Kotha Venkatesh, Janardhan Reddy, Jeevan, Kishore Kumar, Krishnayya, Sidhu, Balaji, Manyam, BJP activists Naresh, Butchi Reddy, Nagulu Goud and Yuva Morcha leader Narender Reddy were present.
