Hyderabad: Top cops urge citizens to stay indoors
Hyderabad: With alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) about the incessant rain for the next two days, the city police top brass issued advisories to the citizens urging them to stay indoors.
They requested them to come out of their homes only if anything is urgent. Anjani Kumar, Hyderabad Police Commissioner, said, "we request the citizens to stay indoors for these two days, i.e., on Monday and Tuesday. A person should come out only if anything is urgent.
Because of the heavy rain there will be a lot of water-logging on streets. It is suggested to avoid congestion. In order to solve problems of the citizens various departments of city police have been deployed on streets.
If anyone is facing any problem in their locality, they dial 100. The help will reach them immediately." "We are fully equipped to handle any situation. We all know that rains are good for agriculture and also in rural areas, but in urban areas there could be congestion due to water-logging.
For this reason, we had a teleconference with all the department officers and have instructed them to reach out to anyone in need of help and assistance," he said.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Ravindra said "we have formed special teams to reach out to the citizens who are in heavily affected areas of rain. We have set up special call centres for people impacted. If anyone needs any help, they can reach us at 94906-17100, 8331013206, 040-27854183 and 040-27853412."
