Hyderabad : TRS, BJP communalising civic body poll says HCCC Minorities Department Chairman Sameer Waliullah
Hyderabad : City Congress Committee (HCCC) Minorities Department Chairman Sameer Waliullah on Friday alleged that ruling TRS and BJP parties were trying to communalise the GHMC elections to hide the failures of their governments at the State and Centre.
Sameer Waliullah said that the both TRS and BJP were deliberately indulging in blame game over non-issues only to divert people's attention from their failures. "Before forming a national-level third front, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao should explain the status of relief distributed among the flood affected people of Hyderabad.
He should also give details of financial assistance given to people who lost their bread earners due to Covid-19 and also to those who lost their jobs and employment. Before calling himself a national leader, KCR should justify his performance at the State and the city levels," he said.
Similarly, he said that BJP President Bandi Sanjay must disclose the figures of funds released by the BJP Government at the Centre for Telangana State in battle against Covid-19. He should also share details of the relief amount sent by the Centre for the flood affected areas of Hyderabad.
"Both BJP and TRS governments have failed to provide any assistance to the common people who were badly hit due to Covid-19, lockdown and then floods. Since both the parties have no grounds to face the people, they are indulging in blame game by trying to communalise the GHMC elections," he said.
Sameer Waliullah also alleged that Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) was an ally of both TRS and BJP. He said that MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has been helping the BJP and KCR in retaining power at the cost of mortgaging the interests of Muslim minorities. He said MIM could not quote a single achievement in the GHMC limits in the last five years.
He said a majority of MIM corporators did not even visit their divisions even once after getting elected in February 2016. Since, MIM could not seek votes based on its performance, it is helping BJP and TRS communalise the elections.
He added that it was the Congress party which brought massive development in Hyderabad when it was in power from 2004-2014.
