Truly disappointed, say residents in many areas of Jubilee Hills (ward-95)

Problems are not always confined to slums in Hyderabad, the major vote bank area in Jubilee Hills (ward 95) is struggling from a bulk of perennial problems such as lack of bus shelter and unattended garbate, damaged roads, which need an immediate attention.

Regular littering by residents and commuters on corners of the colony is resulting sprouting of garbage dumps. Residents are requesting officials to take stringent action as soon as possible as they worry about the mosquitoes breeding at the dump. "Garbage dump at the open drain on the main road is emitting foul smell and this dump is created as hundreds of commuters and residents thrown garbage regularly," said Ruthwik Singh, an MBA student, Yella Reddy Guda.

Explaining tough task to find out bus stand, a local says "It's a difficult task each day to catch a bus in this Bhavani Nagar's Bus stop, If any person visits the area for the first time, they will definitely cannot recognize if the areas have a bus-stop. There is no indication of the bus stop and there is no bus shelter in the area and the bus drivers stop where ever they want.

Moreover, Autos in this area are very much available and the drivers are very rash though they could see people waiting for buses, they come and offer raids and drives as if they are coming to hit us and its really scary to stand on the road even. I request the government to do something favourable us," said, Hiymavathi, a resident of the area. Everywhere, damaged roads haunt wards of Jubilee Hills.

"Flying dust, water stagnation and potholes on the roads are making it tough for motorists to drive smoothly. Recently, two motorists fell off as their bikes skidded. Potholes at turnings are filled with rainwater on the main road, thereby posing grave danger to unsuspecting motorists. We request concerned officials to take immediate action and lay a new road in this area," pleaded Raman, a motorist.

"It is even more difficult for the motorists and commuters to travel on overflowing sewage water and this turned too slippery to walk," says B Gopal. Residents and commuters report about the dirty water sprinkling on them as the vehicles pass by and the situation is getting worse, water stagnation leading to traffic congestion as the slope of the road is very low.

"Overflowing drain is a major issue which we report every time to officials concerned of the area. We also complained to GHMC several times but there is no action taken. We are truly disappointed by their negligence," said Vani Sri, a housewife.
