Icrisat to conduct agribiz start-up training

Patancheru: The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid-Tropics (ICRISAT) in association with 'The Entrepreneur Zone' (TEZ), will be conducting a 20-day agribusiness start-up training programme from July 5 for aspiring entrepreneurs, start-ups, SMEs and NGOs. The sessions will be held on Fridays and Saturdays. Registrations open to start-ups, SMEs, professionals.

This is for starting or operating an enterprise in food processing, animal husbandry, aquaculture, floriculture, agri-biotechnology, digital agriculture, farm mechanisation and agricultural supply chain management. Professionals, students and consultants in these areas are also encouraged to apply.

The theme-based sessions will cover emerging trends and agribusiness opportunities, business modeling, identifying market gap and customer-product mapping models, crafting go-to-market strategies, understanding business financials and regulatory compliances, managing partnerships, networks and team building.

The programme will also include visits to agribusiness companies, mentor sessions from investors and industry experts, interactions with agri-tech start-ups and business development assistance from ICRISAT's Agri-Business Incubator.

The past two editions of the programme had over 50 participants, mostly working professionals interested in starting agri-based businesses. Participants were encouraged to test their ideas and validate models based on their learning from the program. Several participants have started business operations in organic farming, farm management systems, supply chain management and value-addition domains. To apply, visit www.tez.co.in.
