Ideal Information Centre for Disabled hosts Iftaar for differently-abled
Hyderabad: The Ideal Information Centre for Disabled (IICD), Malakpet, organised Dawat-e-Iftaar for the differently abled at Decent Function Hall in Mehdipatnam on Friday.
This was attended by IICD chairman Mohammed Rashaduddin, who, in his address, encouraged the disabled persons to unplug their talent in achieving whatever they wish to achieve by shedding all their inhibitions. Later, certificates were distributed to the students who completed different courses offered at the Institute.
According to organisers, the IICD remains as the only organisation in the city which has been organising this kind of event for the differently abled for the past several years. For about a decade, IICD has been running the Ideal School for Disabled (deaf and dumb) located opposite to Muslim Maternity Hospital in Azampura, near Chaderghat in Malakpet is now recognised by the State government till class X.
A similar centre is also run by IICD for blind where about 20 students learn in Braille at its centre in Mehdipatnam. Similar to the Malakpet's school, the students here also learn computers and other job-oriented courses.
Syed Tabrez Bakshi, the IICD secretary, said that the school which aims at all round development of these specially abled children imparts education on par with standards of the normal schools. He informed that the boarding facility is also being provided for those who live in far-off places and districts.
