Incomplete drain works perturb residents

Malkajgiri: The unfinished works of drainage in the area opposite to the UCO Bank has been causing inconvenience to shopkeepers and customers.

Speaking to Hans India on the issue, K Sita, a resident, said, "The drainage has not been cleaned for many years and we thought finally the works have begun of covering the drainage, but they were left incomplete. We have been complaining about it to the officials concerned many times, but no action has been taken. It has become difficult to walk inside the shops and to park vehicles."

S Shankar, a shop owner, said, "It took 10 to 12 days to fit in the pipes and cover it, but have only covered it in front of a few shops and left the work unfinished, which has become difficult for customers to come. Also, it gives a foul smell because of the unfinished work done.''
