Indira Gandhi jayanti celebrated at Patancheru
Patancheru: The jayanti of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who as Medak MP developed Patancheru as the biggest industrial area in Asia, was celebrated in BHEL, Ramachandrapuram, Patancheru and Jinnaram areas of Sangareddy district on Tuesday. Gali Anil Kumar, Medak MP, described her services to the constituency as 'memorable' and 'unforgettable'.
At BHEL crossroads, Congress leaders garlanded Indira Gandhi's statue. In Patancheru, 113 division corporator Shankar Yadav organised celebrations in Mandal Parishad Office. The party leaders paid floral tributes to her statue in the office.
Addressing the gathering, Yadav said Indira Gandhi's services, like introducing 'Garibi Hatao', 'Roti Kapada Aur Makan', 'Vision 20', in the country were unforgettable. He stated that Indira's nationalisation of banks, lifting of restrictions on gold and launching BDL and Ordnance factories and other industries in Patancheru, Sangareddy and Zaheerabad were achieved due to her efforts.
Among those present included State women's wing secretary Godavari Anji Reddy, party leaders M Goud, Shyam Rao, DCC secretary Sammayya, former Sarpanch Sanjiva Reddy, ZPTC Member and Congress in-charge Radhakrishna Pantulu, Minority wing vice-president Miya, leader Arif and Yuvaraj. In jinnaram MPP Ravinder Goud distributed fruits to patients in the government hospital to mark the jayanti.
