JNTU-Hyderabad NSS volunteers distribute 20K notebooks
JNTU-H campus: Students of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) distributed 20,000 notebooks to the schoolchildren on Thursday.
According to Dr G Narsimha, Professor of CSE and university NSS coordinator, the book distribution was taken up as part of the one lakh notebooks distribution initiative which was launched by in-charge Vice-Chancellor Jayesh Ranjan on August 5.
He said JNTU-H found students leaving white pages in the answer sheets provided to them during the examinations. The notebooks were made out of such pages. He said the university decided to distribute one lakh notebooks to one Mandal Zilla Parishad School in Sangareddy and another in Medak.
Accordingly, NSS volunteers along with the teaching staff visited the Mandal ZPH Schools in Kedpalli and Kohir mandals and distributed 20,000 notebooks, he added. JNTU-H Controller of Examinations, Dr Kamakshi Prasad, NSS Coordinator G Narasimhan, Professor Dasaradha Rao and others participated in the distribution programme.
