Journalists body backs TSRTC strike
Musheerabad: Telangana Working Journalists' Federation (TWJF) announced its support to the indefinite strike called by TSRTC employees on October 5. This was announced by the state president of TWJF Mamidi Somaiah and general secretary B Basava Punnaiah here on Thursday. He called upon journalists to participate in various programmes conducted as part of the strike.
Speaking on the occasion, Punnaiah demanded that the State government merge the RTC with the government as demanded by the RTC employees and pay all the pending amounts. He appealed the State government to resolve the issue without complicating even further.
He condemned the CM for threatening the striking employees of dismissing them. Recalling several promises made by the CM to RTC employees and journalists during the Telangana agitation, he demanded that the CM fulfil his promises. He urged the State government to call the RTC JAC for discussions to resolve the issue.
