Kabiroscope: Journey of a teen who sets his sights on super cars
'Kabiroscope,' a Youtube channel of the youngest automotive enthusiast from the city, is garnering eyeballs as its rave reviews on dream vehicles of youth are going viral on social sites.
He was barely 13 when Kabir set his passion for cars in motion. The self-motivated teenager established contacts with globally renowned auto reviewers who travel across the globe to review premium automobile brands which include super and hyper cars.
At 14, Kabir made a solo trip to a car show in Hyderabad with the aspiration to maximise his learnings on premium and luxury cars. His passion and knowledge earned him accolades from top automotive journalists of India and from senior executives in automobile field.
In 2019 his travel diaries included a trip to Germany, where, unlike most of his ilk, he spent the entire day visiting museums of Porsche and Mercedes, relishing and taking in the beauty and splendour of each and every model displayed. Being an ardent follower of cars and top-notch auto reviewers on social media helped him reach a stage where he could reach out to the larger audience to make his own impressions out of a passion.
Kabir rolled out 'Kabiroscope' on Youtube in October 2019. He features and features and reviews newly launched cars. He is welcome at car showrooms where he gets to experience and explore the just-in car models. Thereafter, come his his organic and first-hand reviews.
Success did not come easy. Showrooms were wary of letting in a teenager to shoot reviews of their vehicles. But his passion fuelled his persistence. His profound knowledge, confidence, professionalism and his meticulous manner of explaining the features eventually changed their opinion of him.
From the boy next door, he is now a professional automotive YouTuber, and it it was quite a journey. Lakhs of views speak for his popularity.
Two of the milestones which shifted Kabir to a high gear in his journey were: reviewing premium and luxury cars such Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley, Audi R8, Mercedes AMG GTS at CL5 Automotive, Hyderabad, in June 2020; and, receiving an invite from the MG showroom in the city to review MG Gloster prior to its launch in India. On the cards is the review of a Rolls Royce which will add yet another feather to Kabir's cap.
Now, whether it's seeking advice before purchasing a new car or comparison of features of various car models, for friends and acquaintances, Kabir has become a one-stop destination. While everyone feels it is befitting for Kabir to pursue automobile engineering as a career, he says 'no.' "I love cars. I like to learn and review their interior, mechanical and technical features & specifications, but not inclined towards the mechanics of an automobile. I will continue to learn & explore cars, review them because that's my passion, my hobby, my interest, but will choose something else to earn a living."
