Kapil Group conducts Walkathon 2019

Gachibowli: The Kapil group flagged off the Walkathon 2019 on its 39th foundation day on Wednesday at the Kapil Towers, Gachibowli. The 5-km walk set out from Kapil Towers till Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy Cross Roads and back. Around 400 employees participated in the 5 km walkathon.

On the occasion of foundation day Kapil group organizes interactive events for the employees where the employees take part and get to know each other. Besides the Walkathon, they also organised blood donation camp, health check-up and eye checkup booths for employees.

Around 41 employees donated 41 units blood in collaboration with the Vivekananda Blood Bank, Mehdipatnam each unit contains 350ml. Employees got their free BMI (Body Mass Index) checkup done by Doconline employees, Doconline which is an online doctor consulting website. The employees also got free eye checkup by employees from Maxi Vision Eye hospital, Hyderabad.

Radha Krishna Murthy, MD, Kapil Engineers, cut a cake to start the celebrations. U Krishna Mohan, President of Kapil Group, flagged off the walkathon. All the employees participated in the walk enthusiastically in the walk. The whole atmosphere radiated an aura of bonhomie.

Mahesh from Kapil Agro bagged the first prize. M Lingachary, Regional Manager, Kapil Chit Funds, was the first runner-up and P Sagar from Kapil Agro was the second runner-up. The winners of the walk were felicitated and awarded by K Vaman Rao, Chairman, Kapil Group of Companies.

M Lingachary, Regional Manager, Kapil Chit Funds, observed that, "This is a very good opportunity for all employees to come and interact and have their fun-filled get together taking a break from the work stress.

It would be great if we organise such events monthly for all employees." "I feel very proud to be the first among 400 and I feel we should do this as a daily exercise for a healthy life. Like every year I participate in every event and blood donation camps as I feel it is a great encouragement for us employees," Mahesh, the first prize winner.

"At first I was not sure how this will be but as I started the walkathon the morning climate and fresh air just made me feel so fresh and energised. I am sad that I didn't win but I am also happy that I took part in it and I will try to implement early morning walk every day from now on," adds P Sagar.
