KCR belittling democracy

Serilingampally: State BJP executive member Jnanendra Prasad on Monday accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of 'belittling democracy' and 'acting in a high-handed manner' with regard to the RTC employees' strike.

Addressing the RTC staff in Miyapur depot, he extended support to their strike. He hit out at KCR for his 'anti-democratic behaviour', while wondering whether Telangana could have been secured without the fight put up by workers.

Prasad pointed out that KCR was 'doing injustice' to RTC employees in their own State, while recalling their crucial role in Telangana achieving statehood. He recalled KCR's statement that he would not allow workers to suffer. The BJP leader stated that people in the State were experiencing severe hardship to travel during the festival days.

He objected to the CM's announcement of dismissing the striking RTC employees, saying they were not bonded labour in KCR's house. This showed KCR's 'step-motherly attitude' towards the employees, he said, while accusing him of 'opening the doors for the Andhra travel operators to loot the Telangana people'. Prasad demanded the CM to either to apologise to the people or resign because of his 'inefficiency'.

He warned the CM that BJP would stand by the RTC employees and force the government to quit if it did not concede their demands. Among those present were BJP division president Mahesh and many leaders of trade unions.
