KCR met Jagan to lure YSR fans to TRS in civic polls: Ponnala Laxmaiah
Hyderabad: Former president of Pradesh Congress Committee Ponnala Laxmaiah on Tuesday alleged that the meeting between Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy was meant to attract the fans of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy towards TRS in the municipal elections.
In a statement, he said that the meeting between the two chief ministers without the presence of officials was held to make political gains. He said that the five-hour meet has no other intention. Laxmaiah said that Telangana Chief Minister was silent on the illegal diversion of Krishna water from Pothireddypadu Head Regulator to Rayalaseema by Andhra Pradesh.
He said that about 200 TMC of water has been diverted. Though Andhra Pradesh says that it would increase the intake of Pothireddypadu regulator from 44,000 cusecs per day to 84,000 cusecs per day, the Telangana government did not respond.
Though Telangana was supposed to get about 400 TMC of water from Srisailam reservoir it has been denied the same due to the excess draw of water by the AP government.
