Kishan pitches for better amenities at govt schools
Musheerabad: Union minister of state for home affairs G Kishan Reddy, along with BJP state president Dr K Lakshman, local MLA Muta Gopal and local corporartor Muta Padma Naresh, participated in the inauguration of second floor of the government school located at Kaveli Grounds of Gandhinagar division on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kishan Reddy said that the poor, who could not afford exorbitant fees charged by the private institutions, are looking towards government schools to admit their wards. Hence, governments need to improve basic amenities at the schools and provide quality education, he said.
The State and Central governments have been providing free textbooks, school uniforms, mid-day meals and other facilities at government schools to encourage admissions and stop school dropouts, he said.
The union minister appealed the underprivileged and middle-class people to admit their wards in government schools and urged the officials to ensure more admissions in government schools.
Among those who attended the programme were Hyderabad district DEO Venkata Narsamma, BJYM city president Vinay, local leaders Muta Jaisimha, M Prabhakar, Saichand, Srinivas Gupta, Srikanth, school principal Swarnalatha, Rakesh Kumar and others.
