Kishan Reddy makes it to Lok Sabha
Secunderabad: BJP retained its position in the Laskhar in the general elections 2019. G Kishan Reddy won with a margin of 57121 votes against TRS candidate Sai Yadav. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Bandaru Dattatreya defeated Congress candidate by a margin of 2,54,735 votes.
But this year the senior party leader was denied ticket and Kishan Reddy was chosen for the contest. In 2009, Anjan Kumar Yadav of Congress won from here. This year he was confined to third position. Kishan Reddy thanked the voters for his election as Member of Parliament from Secunderabad Lok Sabha.
"My gratitude and a big thank you to constituents of Secunderabad, party elders and the selfless karyakartas. I dedicate this victory to all of you and assure you that I will perform to the best of my abilities.
I seek your continued support & blessings," Kishan Reddy said in his message after declaration of results on Thursday evening.Kishan Reddy had served as Amberpet MLA for four terms.
He had served as BJP State President and also served as BJP floor leader in the last Assembly. However, he lost the elections in December 2018. The victory from Secunderabad seat has not only revived his political career, but gave a major boost to BJP in Telangana State.
