Kishan Reddy urges people to avoid plastic

Domalguda: The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, G Kishan Reddy emphasised on the need for protecting the brand value of Hyderabad city. He was speaking at a cloth bag and sapling distribution programme with a slogan 'Say no to plastic, save environment' organised by Indira Park Walkers' Association, here at Indira Park on Sunday. The state BJP president, Dr K Lakshman and local MLA Muta Gopal also attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Kishan Reddy urged people to say no to plastic to protect environment and save Hyderabad's brand image. He appealed to use things made of alternative material such as cloth and jute instead of plastic. He expressed concern over increasing clogging of drainage lines due to plastic thrown into nalas. He urged people, irrespective of their political affiliation, to come forward to protect the brand image of Hyderabad.

GHMC Deputy Commissioner Uma Prakash, Gandhi Nagar corporator Muta Padma Naresh, Indira Park Walkers' Association president Sudhakar Yadav, general secretary Narender Reddy, E Prabhakar Yadav, Srinivas Mudhiraj, TKM Reddy and a large number of walkers participated in the programme.
