Kodandaram, V Hanumanth Rao visit hunger strike camp
Musheerabad: Telangana Jana Samithi president Prof Kodandaram, senior Congress leader V Hanumanth Rao, former MLC Prof K Nageshwar, journalist S Veeraiah, UTF State secretary Chava Ravi on Monday visited the SFI and DYFI hunger strike camp at RTC Crossroads.
The indefinite fast is being organised to demand strong action against those responsible for the Intermediate marks fiasco. The visiting leaders expressed solidarity with those on hunger strike.
Hanumanth Rao, strongly criticising Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for not responding to the issue of Inter students' suicides after the fiasco, demanded payment of compensation of Rs 50 lakh to families of each student. Prof Nageshwar pointed out that the government was treating the issue of suicides as a myth, going by the stand taken by Inter Board Secretary Ashok.
He appealed to the government not to cause agony to the families of students by ridiculing their performance in the exam. He demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the Inter marks bungling before the agitations takes a serious turn. Among those took part in the fast were Vijay (DYFI) and Ramesh(SFI).
