Vidyanagar: President of BC welfare association and former MLA R Krishnaiah shot a letter to Chief Minister K Chandraskhar Rao on Tuesday urging him to take necessary measures to resolve RTC strike amicably.

In view of hardships faced by people for the last 26 days due to the ongoing RTC strike, there was an urgent need for the State government to call RTC JAC leaders for talks, as already many RTC employees have resorted to suicides, he said.

Krishnaiah expressed fear that any further delay in resolving the strike may result in law and order problem. People, especially students and employees, were facing severe hardship due to lack of any affordable transportation due to strike, he said. Krishnaiah said that privatisation of RTC would lead to increase in bus charges and would burden poor.

Citing the neighbouring state Andhra Pradesh, he appealed Telangana government to consider the main demand of RTC employees of RTC merger with government. He urged the CM to take necessary measures to address issues of RTC employees and resolve the strike.
