KTR congratulates scientists of Bharat Biotech on getting DCGI approval for Covaxin
TRS working president and minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday congratulated the entire team of scientists of Bharat Biotech on getting approval of Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) for Covaxin.
The minister said that Hyderabad continues to shine on as the vaccine capital because of the pursuit of excellence of scientists and innovative entrepreneurs. "Many Congratulations to Dr. Krishna Ella, Suchitra Ella & the entire team of scientists of BharatBiotech on getting DCGI approval for Covaxin. Hyderabad continues to shines on as the vaccine capital because of the pursuit of excellence of scientists & innovative entrepreneurs," he tweeted.
Dr VG Somani, chief of Drug Controller General of India (DGCI) on Sunday announced that the vaccines developed by the Bharat Biotech (Covaxin) and Serum Institue of India (Covishield) were approved for restricted use in an emergency situation. He also said that permission has been granted to Cadila Healthcare vaccine for the phase III trials of vaccine to fight against coronavirus.
