Kukatpally: Yellamma Banda Cheruvu in pathetic condition

Kukatpally: Yellamma Banda Cheruvu is surrounded with trash and the lake is filled with water hyacinth plant. Also, as there is no proper drainage system, the water is let out into the lake which has become a major concern for locals residing over here.

"Many locals said that because of sewage water discharged into lakes, it is resulting in mosquito menace and the putrid smell emancipating from the lake is of serious concern," said Venkat, a local.

"Many outsiders are stealthily dumping the domestic waste in polythene bag near the lake and thereby it piles up and gives a nasty look. The locals are also using this lake for defecation," said Suresh, a local. Many complaints have been lodged with the authorities concerned to clean the lake but no one is concerned to protect or clean this lake.
