Kushaiguda-ECIL to get improved traffic system
Kushaiguda: GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said here on Wednesday that improved traffic system would be implemented with Kushaiguda-ECIL as the centre. Addressing a review meeting in his chambers, he announced that the improved traffic system would comprise construction of junctions at Kapra, ECIL, Neredmet, Lalapet and Nagaram, additional junctions, building of footpaths and introduction of U-turn facility.
Rammohan informed the meeting that Kushaiguda was one of the areas witnessing development in the recent past. He said steps were afoot to widen the roads between the Kushaiguda-ECIL junction with better transport facilities. The steps included installation of traffic signals, U-turns, construction of footpaths, free left facility between Lalapet, Neredmet, Nagaram and ECIL Crossroads.
The Mayor announced that shortly he would undertake a tour of the area along with officials of the GHMC engineering, Traffic, Hyderabad Road Development Corporation, HMDA, RTC and police officials. He said the traffic island at ECIL Crossroads would be improved. Encroachments on footpaths would be removed for ushering in a better transport facility. Modern bus bays would be constructed at Kushaiguda and Charlapally and Rs.5 Annapurna canteens would be set up.
Rammohan disclosed that the proposal of the Traffic police to divert heavy vehicles of Jawaharnagar dump yard via NFC-Cable Crossroads, instead of Moulali Housing Board, has been referred to GHMC transport wing. Officials of the Traffic, Police and GHMC attended the meeting.
