Lalaguda Carriage bags best award
Lalaguda: The Minister for Labour, Employment, Women & Child Development, Malla Reddy awarded the 'Best Establishment Award' to basic training centre, Carriage Workshop, Lalaguda, for imparting skill development training to 550 trade apprentices during 2018-19.
The award was presented at a state level awareness workshop on apprenticeship new notification and implementation programme held at Telangana Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, GOI, jointly organised the 'Apprenticeship Pakhawada' from September 30 to October 15. Apprenticeship training is a course that comprises basic and practical training at the workplace, with an Industry or establishment.
National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) was launched by the Central government in August 2016. The scheme entails financial support to establishments undertaking apprenticeship programmes.
The main objective of the programme is to create a job-ready workforce and train and retain high-quality apprentices. The financial benefits under NAPS are sharing of cost of basic training with establishments up to Rs 7500 for 3 months/500 hours or sharing of 25 per cent of the prescribed stipend subject to a maximum of Rs. 1500 per month per apprentice.
