Leftists, Ambedkarites can defeat BJP: Kanche Ilaiah

Nampally: Noted social and dalit activist Kanche Ilaiah said that if Communists and Ambedkar can stage united fight, they would be capable of defeating the BJP. He was speaking in a seminar on the topic, 'Indian communism and social justice,' organised by Forum for Social Justice at Priyadarshini Auditorium here. Retired IAS officer Kaki Madhav Rao, general secretary of MCPI MD Ghouse, noted writer Rama Melkote and others participated in the seminar.

Ilaiah emphasised the need for communists and Ambedkarites to come together as both Congress and BJP parties were not taking up interests of the downtrodden and backward communities. Lamenting the disunity among communists, he opined that they would come to power if they united and strove for unity of SC, ST and BC communities.
